Khan Rizwan hails from the village of Sareen, Thatha in Jahanabad, a land of rich history in Bihar. In 1998-99, he received an intermediate degree from Jamiatul Falah, a noted academic institution, and later obtained a BA from Aligarh Muslim University and an MA from the same in 2004. He later received his M.Phil from Delhi University in 2012 on the dissertation “Asad Badayuni Ba-haisiyat-e-Shayar” under the guardianship of Prof. Abu Bakr Abad, and his Ph.D. in 2020 on “Urdu Shayari ka Tahzibi-o-Saqaafati Mutaala, Unnisviin Sadi ke Tanaazur Mein’'.

He also did an Advanced Diploma in Mass Media Urdu from Jawaharlal Nehru University and Advanced Diploma in Computer Application Urdu from National Council for the Promotion of Urdu Language, Aligarh Chapter.

Besides being a poet of the new generation, he has also established his identity as an adroit critic. In addition to his literary activities, he also actively indulges in contributing towards society. His language and expression have a classical touch to it but carefully mingled with a modern tone; his poetry comes out like an echo of an individual who is animating the sorrows of his time. Love, which is a theme of interest of all poets, has been well versified by Rizwan, too.

So far, five books by Khan Rizwan have been published by various institutions. These include, ‘Asad Badayuni ba-haisiyat-e-Shayar (2013)’, ‘Jadidiyat ka Mughanni Asad Badayuni (2015)’, ‘Kuchh Bhi Nahin Badla (2018)’ {Shahpar Rasool Ki muntakhab Ghazalen- Urdu aur Hindi Edition}, ‘Asad Badayuni Tanqidi Daire Mein (2020)’, and ‘Sabaq-Amoz Kahaniya’, unpublished reformist children’s stories by Tariq Baghpati, published by Markazi Maktaba Islami Publishers, Delhi.
