वो न आ जाए कहीं मिरी परेशानी तक
Do not even mention my penury to him
Lest he reaches the crux of my problems
मैं तो कुछ भी नहीं करती हूँ मोहब्बत के लिए
इश्क़ वाले तो लुटा देते हैं सुल्तानी तक
I do virtually nothing for my love
Lovers have been known to forego crowns
कैसे सहरा में भटकता है मिरा तिश्ना-लब
कैसी बस्ती है जहाँ मिलता नहीं पानी तक
What is the desert where my parched lips wander
What is this place where no water is to be found
नाख़ुदा देख चुका काली घटा के तेवर
बादबाँ खोल दिए उस ने भी तुग़्यानी तक
The oarsman has seen the look of the black clouds
He has unfurled the sails till the coming of the storm
पुर-ख़तर राह मिरी होने लगी है आसाँ
ख़ौफ़ किस का है भला तेरी निगहबानी तक
My tortuous paths are becoming simple
