Jashn-e-Rekhta 2015


<p>After the success of its website rekhta.org, Rekhta Foundation stepped into a completely new territory, something it had never explored before. Rekhta hosted its first-ever event in New Delhi - Jashn-e-Rekhta - a unique celebration of Urdu's inimitable beauty, its soul-stirring cadence and its lyrical splendour. </p><p>Organised in collaboration with the <strong>India International Centre (IIC)</strong> on the <strong>14th & 15th of March 2015</strong>, Jashn-e-Rekhta celebrated the quintessential spirit of Urdu, its inclusive ethos, creative richness and linguistic heritage. An open-for-all event, its two days of festivities saw some of Urdu's finest poets, authors and artists who came together to bring alive the magic of Urdu. </p><p>From melodious musical renditions, dastangoi and recitations to an enthralling mushaira, dramas, film screenings, panel discussions and interactive sessions , Jashn-e-Rekhta explored various genres of the language through diverse mediums. At the Jashn, one did not have to be an Urdu connoisseur to appreciate its timeless magnificence.
