daraKHshan ho jo wo mah-zada-e-shab
daraḳhshāñ ho jo vo mah-zāda-e-shab
bikhar jaa.e ġhubār-e-jāda-e-shab
na aa.ī ik shab-e-aish-e-tarab-zā
huā thā vo kabhī āmāda-e-shab
koī lahrā rahā thā apne gesū
miyān-e-zikr-e-mauj-e-bāda-e-shab
na tujh ko dekhte ik shab ḳhirāmāñ
na hote is qadar dildāda-e-shab
kahāñ hai ai mire māh-e-jāvāñ-sāl
bulātī hai nigār-e-sāda-e-shab

na aai ek shab-e-aish-e-tarab-za
hua tha wo kabhi aamada-e-shab
koi lahra raha tha apne gesu
miyan-e-zikr-e-mauj-e-baada-e-shab
na tujh ko dekhte ek shab KHiraman
na hote is qadar dildada-e-shab
kahan hai ai mere mah-e-jawan-sal
bulati hai nigar-e-sada-e-shab
