حسن تدبیر بھی تھا خوبیٔ تقدیر بھی تھا
حسن تدبیر بھی تھا خوبیٔ تقدیر بھی تھا
تو نے دیکھا ہی نہیں میں تری تصویر بھی تھا
عمر بھر اہل محبت کو پتہ ہی نہ چلا
وقت اس زخم جگر کے لئے زنجیر بھی تھا
کیا ہوا اشک کہ جو زینت مژگاں ہو کر
حاصل درد بھی تھا درد کی تفسیر بھی تھا
تھی زباں بند تری بزم میں لیکن کچھ یوں
دل دھڑکتا تھا کہ اک عالم تقریر بھی تھا
فکر فرماتے جو ارباب ہنر اے نشترؔ
آپ کے دور میں غالبؔ ہی نہیں میرؔ بھی تھا
