قندیل مہ و مہر کا افلاک پہ ہونا
کچھ اس سے زیادہ ہے مرا خاک پہ ہونا
ہر صبح نکلنا کسی دیوار طرب سے
ہر شام کسی منزل غم ناک پہ ہونا
یا ایک ستارے کا گزرنا کسی در سے
یا ایک پیالے کا کسی چاک پہ ہونا
لو دیتی ہے تصویر نہاں خانۂ دل میں
لازم نہیں اس پھول کا پوشاک پہ ہونا
لے آئے گا اک روز گل و برگ بھی ثروتؔ
باراں کا مسلسل خس و خاشاک پہ ہونا
