itnā bhī nā-umīd dil-e-kam-nazar na ho
mumkin nahīñ ki shām-e-alam kī sahar na ho

zindagī se to ḳhair shikva thā
muddatoñ maut ne bhī tarsāyā
zindagi se to KHair shikwa tha
muddaton maut ne bhi tarsaya
allāh re be-ḳhudī ki tire paas baiTh kar
terā hī intizār kiyā hai kabhī kabhī
o lord! There are times when such is my raptured state
