H چمکنا चमकना ćamaknā [ćamak˚ = Prk. चमक्क(इ) or चमक्के(इ), S. चमत्+क्रियते, pass. fr. कृ], v.n. To shine, beam, glow, glimmer, sparkle, glisten, glitter, glare; to be bright, be polished;—to do well, prosper, flourish, thrive; to be lively or brisk (as a market, &c.); to prevail, rage (as an epidemic, &c.); to fly into a passion, become angry;—to be startled, to start, shy;—to get to the head (liquor):—ćamak-rahnā, v.n. continuative of and=ćamaknā.

To cause to glitter, cause to beam or glow; to flash; to burnish, brighten, polish; to display, to make a show; to make famous; to cause to flourish or prosper, to extend, to carry to a great height of prosperity; to wave, brandish, flourish; to rouse, stir up, make lively or active; to provoke, to cause to start or shy, to startle:—ćamkā-denā, v.t.=ćamkānā.
