فاني fānī for A. فانٍ fāniṉ, act. part. of فني 'to pass away,' c.

P فاني fānī (for A. فانٍ fāniṉ, act. part. of فني 'to pass away,' &c.), adj. Passing away, coming to an end, perishable, mortal, frail, transitory, fleeting, inconstant, evanescent:—jahān-ě-fānī, This transitory world.

A فنا fanā (inf. n. of فنی 'to pass away, to perish,' &c.), s.f. Mortality, frailty, corruption, decay, perdition, destruction, death;—adj. Passed away, departed, deceased, defunct; non-existent, extinct:—fanā-paẕīr, adj. Perishable, destructible; transitory, frail, &c.;—perished, destroyed, &c.:—fanā fiʼl-lāh honā, To be absorbed in the Deity; to be lost in the contemplation of God and insensible to all else;—to die:—fanā karnā, v.t.
