P موبد mobid, mobad, or mūbid, mūbad [Pārsī mobad; Pehl. mānpat; Zend nmānopaiti (nmāna+paiti), rt. man with ni = S. नि+मन्], s.m. A worshipper of the sun, one of the Magi, or Pārsīs, or Guebres; a priest of the Guebres;—a doctor, philosopher, any man of great wisdom whose sayings are quoted;—a vizier, a counsellor of state.
