طوطي t̤ūt̤ī for tūtī

P طوطي t̤ūt̤ī (for tūtī), s.f. A parrot, paroquet;—the small singing bird Loxia rosea, or Carpodacus erythrinus;—(met.) a sweet-tongued or eloquent speaker:—t̤ūt̤ī bulwānā or bulwā-lenā (apnī), 'To cause (one's) t̤ūt̤ī to sing'; to acquire fame, get a name:—t̤ūt̤ī bolnā (-kisī kī), 'The t̤ūt̤ī (of anyone) to be singing'; to be in good repute; to gain the ear (of one in authority); to be winning golden opinions; to acquire influence or authority:—t̤ūt̤ī-ke-se hoṅṭh mal-ḍālṇā (-kisī-ke), To rub or twist the parrot-like lips (of one,—a phrase used by way of an affectionate or friendly admonition).
