A وصل waṣl (inf. n. of وصل 'to be united in friendship,' &c.), s.m. Meeting, union; mingling, junction, conjunction, connexion, attachment; enjoyment of the society (of friends, &c.);—sexual intercourse;—(in Gram.) the sign (?) over alif:—waṣl karnā, v.t. To join, unite, conjoin, annex, attach; to paste; to cement:—alifuʼl-waṣl, The alif of union, or the connective alif (i.q. wasla, q.v.).
