Dr. Ahrar Husain is a Professor at the Faculty of Education and the Director of the Centre for Distance and Online Education at Jamia Millia Islamia, a central university in New Delhi, India. He has previously served as the Head of the Department and as the Dean of the Faculty of Education at the same institution.
Dr. Husain obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. He has published over twenty research papers in international journals on Physics, supplemented by an even greater number of publications on topics such as science animation, interactive simulations, and augmented technologies. Currently, he leads research and development in technology-enhanced learning and pedagogical methods. His areas of interest include metacognition and learning strategies, adaptable and personalized learning systems, science education, and the use of social media in online learning.
He has also served as an active consultant to various organizations in the education sector, offering guidance on developing and acquiring technically skilled teaching workforces. Dr. Husain is a prolific author who has written thirteen books covering topics from educational challenges to scientific innovations. His contributions have been recognized by the Government of Delhi and the Government of Uttar Pradesh, India, with prestigious awards.
With over thirty years of experience in teaching, counseling, and research, he is actively engaged in mentoring research scholars at the M.Phil. and Ph.D. levels. He is also the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the Jamia Journal of Education, a bi-annual international publication, and serves on several advisory boards for research journals and conference technical committees, all dedicated to advancing research and innovation.
