हम आहुवान-ए-शब का भरम खोलते रहे
हम आहुवान-ए-शब का भरम खोलते रहे
मीज़ान-ए-दिलबरी पे उन्हें तोलते रहे
अक्स-ए-जमाल-ए-यार भी क्या था कि देर तक
आईने क़ुमरियों की तरह बोलते रहे
क्या क्या था हल्ल-ए-मसअला-ए-ज़िंदगी में लुत्फ़
जैसे किसी का बंद-ए-क़बा खोलते रहे
पूछो न कुछ कि हम से ग़ज़ालान-ए-बज़्म-ए-शब
किस शहर-ए-दिलबरी की ज़बाँ बोलते रहे
कल शब था ज़िक्र-ए-हूर भी ज़िक्र-ए-बुताँ के साथ
ज़ोहद-ओ-सफ़ा इधर से उधर डोलते रहे
अपना भी वज़्न कर न सके लोग और हम
रूह-ए-वरा-ए-रूह को भी तोलते रहे
सरमाया-ए-अदब थी हमारी ग़ज़ल 'ज़फ़र'
अशआ'र-ए-नग़्ज़ थे कि गुहर रोलते रहे
