A فصل faṣl, vulg. faṣal (inf. n. of فصل 'to separate, or divide,' &c.), s.f. A separation, division, partition; one of the four divisions or seasons of the year, a season; season, time; reaping-season, harvest; crop or crops; a division, section (of a chapter, &c.); a chapter; an article; a clause;—distinguishing between what is true and what is false; decision, determination:—faṣl-ě-istāda, s.f. A standing crop:—faṣl-ě-tuḵẖm-rezī, s.f. Sowing-season, seed-time:—faṣl-ě-ḵẖarīf, s.f. The autumn; the autumnal harvest of rice, millet, &c. (the seed is sown at the commencement of the rainy season, and the crop is reaped about Oct.-Nov.):—faṣl-ě-rabīʻ, s.f. The season of spring; the spring harvest (see rabīʻ; the crops of this season consist of wheat, barley, peas, gram, poppy, &c.):—faṣl-ě-gul, s.f. The season of flowers, the spring (=faṣl-ě-bahār or bahār).
