Held in high estimation or regard, esteemed, honoured, revered;—respectable, creditable, reputable; worthy of confidence, trustworthy, confidential, relied on; credible; true; authentic—s.m. A respectable person; a trustworthy person (i.q. mǒʻtabar ādmī):—mǒʻtabar jānnā, v.t. To regard or consider as trustworthy, or creditable, or true, or genuine; to receive or admit as true, &c.
