ساون सावन sāwan

H ساون सावन sāwan [Prk. सावणु; S. श्रावणं], s.m. The fourth Hindū month, July-August (beginning when the sun enters Cancer: its full moon is near Śravaṇā or α Aquilæ):—sāwan-bhādoṅ, s.m. Sunshine and rain;—a kind of lattice-work;—a kind of firework:—sāwan-kī jhaṛī, s.f. The constant showers of Sāwan:—sāwan hare na bhādoṅ sūkhe, 'Flourishing in summer and not fading in autumn'; continuing in the same state or condition.
