A فنا fanā (inf. n. of فنی 'to pass away, to perish,' &c.), s.f. Mortality, frailty, corruption, decay, perdition, destruction, death;—adj. Passed away, departed, deceased, defunct; non-existent, extinct:—fanā-paẕīr, adj. Perishable, destructible; transitory, frail, &c.;—perished, destroyed, &c.:—fanā fiʼl-lāh honā, To be absorbed in the Deity; to be lost in the contemplation of God and insensible to all else;—to die:—fanā karnā, v.t. To destroy, to annihilate:—fanā ho-jānā, v.n. To pass away, to vanish, perish; to cease to be, to die.
