ذي ẕī

A ذي ẕī, s.m. (gen. of ẕū; like which it is used), Possessor, &c. (see ẕū):—ẕī-iḵẖtiyār, adj. & s.m. Possessed of power or authority, empowered, with powers (of a magis trate);—one empowered or in authority, one having competent jurisdiction:—ẕī-istěʻdād, adj. & s.m. Possessed of ability or capacity, capable, well-qualified;—a man of capacity or ability:—ẕī-iqtidār, adj. & s.m.=ẕī-iḵẖtiyār, q.v.:—ẕiʼl-ḥij, or ẕiʼl-ḥijja, s.m. The last month of the Mohammadan year (on the tenth day of which is the festival of baqar-ʻīd):—ẕiʼl-qaʻda, s.m.=ẕī-qaʻd, q.v.:—ẕiʼl-maqām, adj. جوع jūʻ

A جوع jūʻ, s.f. Hunger, appetite:—jūʻuʼl-kalb, adj. Voracious, gluttonous:—jūʻuʼl-kalbī, s.f. Canine hunger, voracity.

ضائع ẓāʼěʻ, vulg. ẓāyʻa act. part. of ضيع 'to perish,' c.

A ضائع ẓāʼěʻ, vulg. ẓāyʻa (act. part. of ضيع 'to perish,' &c.), part. adj. Perishing, becoming lost or destroyed; lost, wasted, fruitless, abortive:—ẓāʼěʻ jānā, v.n.=ẓāʼěʻ honā:—ẓāʼěʻ karnā, v.t. To cause, or allow, to perish, to destroy; to lose; to consume, waste; to apply (labour, &c.) to no purpose, to misapply; to frustrate:—ẓāʼěʻ honā, v.n. جو जो jo, जौ jau
