Yad-e-Baiza

MORE BYAnisur Rahman

In Arabic, “yad” means hand and “baiza” means the shining one. Apart from the magical staff that God had offered to Musa (Moses), he was also given the great gift of a shining hand. For this, he was asked to take his hand inside his clothes and touch the arm pits and then take it out. Just as Musa did this, he found that his hand was shining and it looked spotless and healthier than before.

Reference: Khoobi-i-ejaaz-e-husn-e-yaar gar afsha karoon/Betakalluf safha-i-kaaghaz yad-e-baiza karoon (Vali Deccani), Talab-e-haq mein agar baadiya paima hota/Mera har aabla paa yad-e-baize hota (Zauq), Kabhi main zauq-e-takallum mein Tuur per pahuncha/Chhupaya noor-e-azal zer-e-aasteen main ne (Iqbal)
