ye kaise log hain jo rah mein na-chaar baiThe hain

jin ke achchhe hain sanam un ke karam achchhe hain

jis ghaDi aql ne kuchh hosh mein lana chaha

dosti chand mulaqat se aage na baDhi

aaj rota hai mere dil ko jalane wala

chah ke uljhe hue rishte ko suljhane chale

apna mear juda apna hai kirdar juda

zikr mera kahan nahin hota

chashm tar hoti hai jab zikr tera hota hai

aaj mujh sa is jahan mein be-nawa koi nahin

meri nigah mein ye charKH-e-aKHzari kya hai

ghaTa ho baad-e-bahaari ho aur jam nahin

unhen talash karo tark-e-rang-o-bu karke

ranai-e-hayat hui kam hai in dinon

kabhi to aate wo baala-e-baam kah dena

uljhe na ishq se kaho dair-o-haram se kya gharaz

tu rahe ye rut rahe ye daur-e-paimana rahe

hae nairang-e-junun par mera qurban hona

zauq-e-nazar hudud baDhane mein rah gaya
