sunaun tumhein zindagi ki kahani

mohabbat ki fitrat hai ye be-qarari

mujhe yaad hain wo din jo teri bazm mein guzare

wahi meri na-muradi wahi gardish-e-zamana

fikr-e-hasti hai na ehsas-e-ajal

na kaam fikr se nikla na chal saki tadbir

aql-o-din hai rah-e-junun ke KHilaf

ab aao surud-e-gham sunaen

wahi subh ka dhundhalka wahi manzilen wahi shab

jawedan gham ahd-e-ishrat tez-pa

maal-e-kar na kuchh bhi hua to kya hoga

hosh us par kisi ka bas na chala

maine ab samjha hai raaz-e-kaenat
