KHwab yun hi nahin hote pure
ḳhvāb yuuñ hī nahīñ hote puure
jān-o-tan lagte haiñ puure puure
raas aa.egī mohabbat us ko
jis se hote nahīñ va.ade puure
chhoḌ aa.e tire hisse ke dost
ham ne manzar nahīñ dekhe puure
guftugū hosh-rubā hai us kī
us kī bāteñ haiñ sahīfe puure
hijr aur raat taqābul meñ haiñ
ashk puure ki sitāre puure
yaad huuñ aadhā sā ḳhud ko 'ahmad'
naqsh ā.īne meñ kab the puure
