زیر مطالعہ مولوی سید کلیم اللہ کا مرتب کردہ علم عروض پر مختصر سا رسالہ ہے۔ جس کے مطالعہ سے قاری اس فن سے بخوبی واقف ہوسکتے ہیں۔اس رسالے کی ترتیب کے لیے انھوں نے علم عروض کی عربی ،فارسی اور اردو کی مستند کتابوں سے استفادہ کیاہے۔ابتدا میں مرتب نے علم عروض کی تعریف، موجد، شعر کی تفہیم وغیرہ سے متعلق معلومات بھی درج کی ہیں۔
Identity: Distinguished teacher of Persian, expert in Tajwid and Qira’at, and scholar of prosody
Syed Kaleemullah Husaini was born in December 1904 in Bazaar Noor Khan, Hyderabad Deccan. He received his early education at home from his father. In 1919, with the establishment of Osmania College, he enrolled there and studied Persian, Urdu, and Economics at the intermediate level. He completed his B.A. in 1923 and earned both a B.A. in Persian and an LL.B. degree in 1925.
After completing his education, he served for two years in the judicial department as a Munsif. He was then appointed Lecturer in Persian and Urdu at Osmania College. In 1928, he went to London for higher studies and obtained his PhD in 1930. Upon his return, he resumed teaching at Osmania University, where he served until 1958 as Professor of Persian and Head of the Department. He retired that year on superannuation. Later, in 1965, he was appointed Professor by the University Grants Commission, Delhi, and served in that capacity for three years.
He founded the Idara-e-Dar-ul-Qira’at wa Diniyat al-Kalimiya, where he taught Tajwid and Qira’at until the end of his life. He was a Qari of Sab‘ah ‘Asharah and held a distinguished position in the sciences of Qur’anic recitation and pronunciation.
