Dr. Sayeed Ahmad hails from Domariaganj, Siddharth Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. He obtained his M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). The title of his M.Phil. dissertation was "An Analytical Study of Major Urdu Travelogues after 1975," while his Ph.D. research focused on "The Changing Dimensions of the Urdu Novel (From Its Inception to 1947)." He also completed his Post-Doctoral Fellowship (UGC) from JNU.

His research and critical book "Urdu Safarnama After Independence (Criticism and Analysis)" received great appreciation. This book was published with financial assistance from the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL). The Delhi Urdu Academy recognized it as one of the best research and critical books of 2012. His second book, "Tahqiq o Tafheem," was published in 2023, while his third book, "Jang-e-Azadi aur Urdu Adab," was also published in 2023.

Dr. Sayeed Ahmad has published approximately 30 research articles in prestigious Urdu journals and magazines, and some of his articles have also been included in edited books. He has participated in nearly 10 national and international seminars and has served as a convener in four national and international seminars. Additionally, he has delivered special lectures at various universities.

For nearly six years, he has been serving as a Ph.D. convener in the Department of Urdu. He is a member of the Board of Studies (BOS) and Board of Research Studies (BRS) in four universities and two colleges. Under his supervision, two Ph.D. scholars have completed their research, while four are currently pursuing their doctorates.

Dr. Sayeed Ahmad has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urdu at Aliah University, Kolkata (West Bengal), for approximately eight years.
