About The Author

Mrs. D Barkat Rai: Born, 1895 in Hyderabad, she was related to  the family of Maharaja Chandulal and Maharaja Kishan Prasad. She was homeschooled in Hindi, Persian, Urdu and English, used to write  prose  as well  as poetry. She has made  great contributions  in the establishment of Home industries in Hyderabad, established a school for poor children  in her Bunglow named "Gulshan Mahal" and  set up a night school for women. One of her greatest achievements is  her translation of Bhagwat Geeta into Urdu language. She also wrote a series poems  for children under the name "Bacchon k Batashe"
