the wedding procession of parvati ji and shiva ji was a spiritual event where it seemed as if the heavens and earth were dancing in celebration. this procession was not only filled with the magic of colors and lights but also carried a deep spirituality that made it far more unique than ordinary weddings. parvati ji's father meticulously prepared for the procession, adorning the entire palace beautifully. the air was filled with fragrances, and the beats of drums, dances, and music created an enchanting atmosphere. in contrast, shiva ji, accompanied by his companions and demons, arrived in simple attire from the mountains, intoxicated with bhang. shiva ji’s procession emphasized spirituality over opulence. as shiva ji arrived with the procession, the entire environment was imbued with a sacred and spiritual aura. the presence of spirits, ghosts, lord ganesha, and other deities accompanying him transformed this procession into a heavenly spectacle. their marriage was seen as a spiritual union that remains alive in the heart of universe to this day. tamanna lakhnavi’s book "gaur vivah" vividly describes this procession in poetic form with exceptional beauty. first published in 1898 by munshi naval kishore press in lucknow, the book holds great significance not only from a religious perspective but also for its lessons in moral values. its language and style are profoundly moving, securing it a prestigious place in urdu literature.
