About The Author
Name Anisa Begum Pen name Anisa Haroon Sherwani. Born at Watadali, Dist. Aligarh. She was the niece of Nawab Sir Muzammil Khan of Aligarh. She was home schooled and learned Urdu and Persian. In 1920 got married to the famous historian Professor Haroon Khan Sherwani, who was in the state of Hyderabad at that time. She started writing poetry in 1924. Her poetry collection "Anisiyat" was published 1944. In addition, Anisa published a collection of poems and biorgraphy of her late cousin and friend, the famous poetess Z K. Sheen, tilted "Firdous Takhiyul " , eighteen years after her death, in 1941.
