he magazine "insha" is a monthly publication published from kolkata, with f. s. ijaz as its editor. it was first published in 1986 . its guiding figures were professor qamar rais, ahmad saeed maliyah abadi, and ain rashid. at that time, the price per issue was 4 rupees, and the annual subscription, including special issues, was 45 rupees. it was the era of manual typesetting, and the typesetting for insha was done by riffat abbas and nazir islam. in march 1993, the price per issue of insha increased to 10 rupees, and the annual subscription rose to 66 rupees. during this period, insha’s office moved to 25b zakariya street, kolkata 73. in january 1995, the 100th issue of insha was published, which received significant appreciation. this issue was typeset using a computer. until 1997, insha was regularly published as a monthly, but due to some unknown reasons, most of the issues of insha began to be published bi-monthly. along with the regular issues, special issues and numbers were also published in book form. while the regular issues consisted of 70 to 80 pages, the special issues would contain up to 500 pages. insha continues to be published to this day, and its latest issue, march-april 2020, has been released. this issue contains 63 pages and includes various articles, short stories, poems, and ghazals.
