Ikramul Haque ‘Najm’ (15 May 1938 – 10 May 2021) was a muslim poet and journalist, who started writing poetry as early as fourteen years of age. His poems in Urdu and Hindi language have won many accolades and awards in India and Pakistan. He is commonly referred to by the honorific ‘Najm
Muzaffarnagari’ (named after the city in U.P. that he belonged to).
He is best known for his Ghazals, Urdu poems composed for children, patriotism and religious harmony.Some of his books published are Daayre Khayalon Ke, Yaadon ka Safar and Manaqib-e-Aal-e-Muhammad. He is highly regarded for his initiative to start Ladies Mushaira in the city he lived in, a
platform to promote and encourage all the lady poets and their work. He had been selected as the
member of Utter Pradesh Urdu Academy for many years.
