Poet and short story writer, Saifi Premi is known for his association with Progressive Writers Movement. He was born on 02 January, 1913, at a place called Gonnaur in Badayun district of Uttar Pradesh. He received his early education at Badayun and started writing poetry at an early age. Abr Ahsani Gonnauri was his mentor. In 1952, he got associated with the Progressive Writers Movement and also served as the Secretary of the Association at its Jamia Nagar branch in Delhi.
Saifi Premi’s published works include Khalish, Hamaare Muhaaware, Manzilein Pyar Ki, Jigar Barelavi: Shakhsiyat aur Fun, Haayaat-e Ismail Merathi, and a translation of a novel from Hindi called Aadhi Ghadi.
