Ekram Khawar emerged as a poet in the nineties. He has two poetry collections viz. “Masnad-e Khaak” and “Lahu Se Chaand Uthta Hai” to his credit, besides some articles on literary/social issues published in Urdu and English magazines etc. His creative process has been largely derived from the life around, fired chiefly by a strong disagreement with the realities around and a mad desire to paint them afresh. His poems, mostly born out of an existential crisis, so to say, have been driven by intense feelings of outrage and despondency at the same time. His work, though modest in volume, has been well regarded in serious literary circles.
