Bareily has been the birthplace of many Urdu poets and writers. Jameel Ahmad was born on 12 December 1925, in Qasba Sirol of District Bareily. He passed his tenth with Hindi as an optional subject and passed the exam of Munshi. He accomplished his Urdu Aala Qabiliyat from Allahabad in 1945. He began to write poetry in 1944 and he became a disciple of Sheva Bareilvi. Initially, he would write under the pen name, Jameel Ahmad Nazae and later, he adopted the pen name, Jameel In 1960, he was elected a member of the Buniyadi Urdu Jamhoriyat. In 1965, he joined Hotel Inter-Continental. He died on 18 August 1993 in
