Seemab is considered amongst one of the foremost masters of Urdu poetry. His father, Maulana Mohammad Hussain Siddiqui was a highly educated executive. His father passed away while he was still in college. He left college and got a job in Railways in Kanpur. Seemab started writing poetry during his school days. He became a disciple of Dagh in 1898 and travelled to Ajmer for work after relinquishing his job. In 1921 Seemab founded an institution “ Qasr-ul-Adab” to train new poets. He had also translated the Quran and the persian masnavi of Maulana Rume in Urdu. His first divan was published from Agra in 1936. He came to Pakistan after partition and passed away in Karachi on 31st Jan 1951.
