Jurm Mohammadabad was born Abul Hasan on 04 Februaray, 1903 at a place called Mohammadabad in the Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. He is acknowledged as a poet of extraordinary reach with respect to poetry and poetics. He also wrote short stories, plays, and essays on social and literary issues. After receiving his early education in Arabic, Persian, and Urdu, he could not continue his studies any further. In order to seek his livelihood, he moved to Calcutta.
He sought counselling on his poetry from famous master of poets, Arzoo Lucknowi. His collections of poetry include Shola-i-Rangeen, Bahaar-e-Ajam, Teer-e-Nazar, and Firdaus-e-Nazar.
He passed away on 15 January, 1980 at his place of birth.
