it started publishing from agra in 1879. the editor of the prose section was mir nasir ali, while the responsibility for arranging and selecting the poetry section was entrusted to hafiz rahimullah saba akbarabadi. this magazine regularly published articles against sir syed's naturalistic beliefs. it was an important magazine, and regarding it, maulana abdul halim sharar wrote in dilgaz (january 1915): "in the thirteenth century, alongside high literary competence, the preservation of the old literary taste was maintained, while new ideas and innovations were introduced, and ancient eastern literature was presented in a new form, so that both the new and the old groups would spontaneously exclaim with admiration."
