Afkar Bhopal/Karachi was also an important progressive literary magazine, published under the editorship of Sehba Lakhnavi. Along with literary creations, it also featured translations of national and international works. One of Afkar's notable contributions was the publication of autobiographies. Its special editions included the "Urdu in Britain" issue, Josh issue, Faiz issue, Amir Khusro issue, Nadeem issue, Ghalib issue, Azadi (Independence) issue, and Majaz issue, among others.
