In 1930, Khyalistan was launched. It was published under the editorship of Akhtar Shirani Tonkvi, the son of Hafiz Mahmood Shirani. The honorary editor was Maulana Siha Alig, and the assistant editor was Latifi B.A. The magazine's cover carried the inscription: A Monthly Collection of the Beauties of Urdu Knowledge and Literature. It encompassed all literary genres and also featured illustrations.
