آہٹ پہ کان در پہ نظر اس طرح نہ تھی
ایک ایک پل کی ہم کو خبر اس طرح نہ تھی
تھا دل میں درد پہلے بھی لیکن نہ اس قدر
ویراں تو تھی حیات مگر اس طرح نہ تھی
ہر ایک موڑ مقتل ارمان و آرزو
پہلے تو تیری راہ گزر اس طرح نہ تھی
جب تک صبا نے چھیڑا نہ تھا نکہت گلاب
کوچہ بہ کوچہ محو سفر اس طرح نہ تھی
برسوں میں پہلے ہوتی تھی نم آستیں کبھی
ارزاں متاع دیدۂ تر اس طرح نہ تھی
