بارشوں میں غسل کرتے سبز پیڑ
دھوپ میں بنتے سنورتے سبز پیڑ
کس قدر تشہیر غم سے دور تھا
چپکے چپکے آہ بھرتے سبز پیڑ
دور تک روتی ہوئی خاموشیاں
رات کے منظر سے ڈرتے سبز پیڑ
دشت میں وہ راہرو کا خواب تھے
گھر میں کیسے پاؤں دھرتے سبز پیڑ
دوستوں کی سلطنت میں دور تک
دشمنوں کے ڈھور چرتے سبز پیڑ
کر گئے بے مہر موسم کے سپرد
رفتہ رفتہ آج مرتے سبز پیڑ
