bataen kya amal ishq-e-haqiqi ka kahan tak hai
batā.eñ kyā amal ishq-e-haqīqī kā kahāñ tak hai
zamīñ kyā āsmāñ tak hai makāñ kyā lā-makāñ tak hai
ta.ayyun se barī ho gar hai lā-mahdūd kā tālib
ki hadd-e-mulk-o-duniyā to vahīñ tak hai jahāñ tak hai
na ho āzād daur-e-charḳh kī halqa-ba-goshī se
tirā markūz dil-e-māo-shumā aur īn-o-āñ tak hai
to bismillāh ke gumbad meñ kyā hai mo.atakif zāhid
sukūn-e-ḳhātir-e-muztar havāsoñ se amaañ tak hai
pahuñch saktā hai kab sachchī ḳhushī ko aish-e-nafsānī
ki vo to āb-e-ruknābād va jū-e-mūliyāñ tak hai
hai shaiḳh-o-barahman ke diin kī had dair-o-ka.aba tak
savād-e-dīn-e-ishq-e-be-ġharaz kaun-o-makāñ tak hai
yaqīñ se aur amal se puḳhtagī paa.ī aqīdat ne
pahuñch terī to ai nādān bas vahm-o-gumāñ tak hai
haqīqat husn kī ā.īna tujh par kyūñki ho jaatī
nazar terī to zulf-o-ḳhāl-o-abrū-e-butāñ tak hai
jo haiñ mast-e-alast un ko ḳhumār-o-sukr kā Dar kyā
nigāh-e-tishna-kām-e-ishq hī dast-e-muġhāñ tak hai
hasīr-e-ishq ko kab daḳhl is mahfil meñ hai 'kaifī'
bisāt us kī faqat bain-o-bukā āh-o-fuġhāñ tak hai
bataen kya amal ishq-e-haqiqi ka kahan tak hai
zamin kya aasman tak hai makan kya la-makan tak hai
tayyun se bari ho gar hai la-mahdud ka talib
ki hadd-e-mulk-o-duniya to wahin tak hai jahan tak hai
na ho aazad daur-e-charKH ki halqa-ba-goshi se
tera markuz dil-e-mao-shuma aur in-o-an tak hai
to bismillah ke gumbad mein kya hai moatakif zahid
sukun-e-KHatir-e-muztar hawason se aman tak hai
pahunch sakta hai kab sachchi KHushi ko aish-e-nafsani
ki wo to aab-e-ruknabaad wa ju-e-muliyan tak hai
hai shaiKH-o-barahman ke din ki had dair-o-kaba tak
sawad-e-din-e-ishq-e-be-gharaz kaun-o-makan tak hai
yaqin se aur amal se puKHtagi pai aqidat ne
pahunch teri to ai nadan bas wahm-o-guman tak hai
haqiqat husn ki aaina tujh par kyunki ho jati
nazar teri to zulf-o-KHal-o-abru-e-butan tak hai
jo hain mast-e-alast un ko KHumar-o-sukr ka Dar kya
nigah-e-tishna-kaam-e-ishq hi dast-e-mughan tak hai
hasir-e-ishq ko kab daKHl is mahfil mein hai 'kaifi'
