ساتھ چلتے تھے جو ساتھیوں کی طرح
دوستو جن کو اپنا سمجھتے تھے ہم
پیش آئے ہیں وہ دشمنوں کی طرح
کرچی کرچی ہوئیں ایک ہی ٹھیس میں
خواہشیں کانچ کے برتنوں کی طرح
اس کی یادوں سے آباد ہیں آج تک
میری تنہائیاں محفلوں کی طرح
اے ظفرؔ سخت الفاظ کی چوٹ سے
ٹوٹ جاتے ہیں دل آئنوں کی طرح
