دشوار ہے اس انجمن آرا کو سمجھنا
تنہا نہ کبھی تم دل تنہا کو سمجھنا
ہو جائے تو ہو جائے اضافہ غم دل میں
کیا عقل سے سودائے تمنا کو سمجھنا
اک لمحۂ حیرت کے سوا کچھ بھی نہیں ہے
کچھ اور نہ اس تندیٔ دریا کو سمجھنا
کچھ تیز ہواؤں نے بھی دشوار کیا ہے
قدموں کے نشانات سے صحرا کو سمجھنا
