fāsla yuuñ to bas makāñ bhar thā
lekin apnā safar jahāñ bhar thā
dhuup dil meñ faqat gumāñ bhar thī
abr āñkhoñ meñ āsmāñ bhar thā
aañkh bhar ishq aur badan bhar chaah
shukr lab bhar gila zabāñ bhar thā
kyā milā juz sukūt-e-be-pāyāñ
shor siine meñ kārvāñ bhar thā
muzhda-e-vasl thā bas ik fiqara
ḳhauf-e-ādā to dāstāñ bhar thā
fasla yun to bas makan bhar tha

dhup dil mein faqat guman bhar thi
abr aankhon mein aasman bhar tha
aankh bhar ishq aur badan bhar chah
shukr lab bhar gila zaban bhar tha
kya mila juz sukut-e-be-payan
shor sine mein karwan bhar tha
muzhda-e-wasl tha bas ek fiqara
