gulshan-e-dahr meñ sabā ho tum
be-muravvat ho bevafā ho tum
apne matlab ke āshnā ho tum
kaun ho kyā ho kyā tumheñ likkheñ
aadmī ho parī ho kyā ho tum
pista-e-lab se ham ko quvvat do
dil-e-bīmār kī davā ho tum
ham ko hāsil kisī kī ulfat se
matlab-e-dil ho mudda.ā ho tum
yahī āshiq kā paas karte haiñ
kyuuñ jī kyuuñ dar-pa-e-jafā ho tum
usī 'aḳhtar' ke tum hue māshūq
hañso bolo usī ko chāho tum
ghuncha-e-dil khile jo chaho tum
gulshan-e-dahr mein saba ho tum
be-murawwat ho bewafa ho tum
apne matlab ke aashna ho tum
kaun ho kya ho kya tumhein likkhen
aadmi ho pari ho kya ho tum
pista-e-lab se hum ko quwwat do
dil-e-bimar ki dawa ho tum
hum ko hasil kisi ki ulfat se
matlab-e-dil ho muddaa ho tum
yahi aashiq ka pas karte hain
kyun ji kyun dar-pa-e-jafa ho tum
usi 'aKHtar' ke tum hue mashuq
hanso bolo usi ko chaho tum
