hogī tirī diid vāqa'ī kyā
aa.egī ye 'iid vāqa'ī kyā
kyuuñ dil nahīñ nā-umīd ab bhī
hai koī umiid vāqa'ī kyā
guzre hue vaqt kī kisī ko
miltī hai rasīd vāqa'ī kyā
aane pe vo ho ga.e haiñ tayyār
sach hai ye shunīd vāqa'ī kyā
baiThe ho 'sha'ūr' kis liye ab
piinī hai mazīd vāqa'ī kyā

kyun dil nahin na-umid ab bhi
