    hukmarāñ jab se huiiñ bastī pe afvāheñ vahāñ

    din Dhale bain kartī haiñ ajab rāteñ vahāñ

    ik ġhurūb-e-be-nishāñ samt raste par huuñ maiñ

    ḳhauf ye darpesh hoñgī kaisī duniyā.eñ vahāñ

    bār-hā dekhī hai un kūchoñ ne shab-mastī mirī

    aaj bhī ik ghar ke bām-o-dar shanāsā haiñ vahāñ

    kyā tujhe mismārī-e-dil ḳhabar koī na thī

    kis liye bhejīñ na ne phir abābīleñ vahāñ

    ek daf.a yahāñ aa kar mujhe hairān kar

    kyā zarūrī hai ki tujh se milne aa.uuñ maiñ vahāñ

    din Dhale hi bain karti hain ajab raaten wahan

    ek ghurub-e-be-nishan ki samt raste par hun main

    KHauf ye darpesh hongi kaisi duniyaen wahan

    bar-ha dekhi hai un kuchon ne shab-masti meri

    aaj bhi ek ghar ke baam-o-dar shanasa hain wahan

    kya tujhe mismari-e-dil ki KHabar koi na thi

    kis liye bhejin na tu ne phir ababilen wahan

    ek dafa tu yahan aa kar mujhe hairan kar

    kya zaruri hai ki tujh se milne aaun main wahan
