ishq ke majraat yaad nahin
ishq ke mājrāt yaad nahīñ
juz tire koī baat yaad nahīñ
yaad hai qissa-e-alif-lailā
sabaq-e-dīniyāt yaad nahīñ
lagī baazī thī husn-o-ulfat meñ
kis ne phir khaa.ī maat yaad nahīñ
garm rahtī thī jin se bazm-e-aish
ab to vo tazkirāt yaad nahīñ
muñh lagī jab se duḳht-e-raz 'jauhar'
lutf-e-qand-o-nabāt yaad nahīñ
