sone kā dhokā pītal
terā badan aur taaj mahal

duniyā hai ik andhā kuaañ
chāroñ or hai jal hī jal
dhuup ne jhāñkā khiḌkī se
mach ga.ī kamre meñ halchal
paap dhuleñge donoñ se
madirā ho yā gangā-jal
dekh na bhārī patthar pheñk
dil hai nāzuk shīsh-mahal
'rāj' hamīñ ne chhalkāyā
apne lahū se jām-e-ġhazal
