kahte hain ki ab humse KHata-kar bahut hain
kahte haiñ ki ab ham se ḳhatā-kār bahut haiñ
ik rasm-e-vafā thī so vafādār bahut haiñ
lahje kī khanak ho ki nigāhoñ kī sadāqat
yūsuf ke liye misr ke bāzār bahut haiñ
kuchh zaḳhm kī rañgat meñ gul-e-tar ke qarīñ the
kuchh naqsh ki haiñ naqsh-ba-dīvār bahut haiñ
rāhoñ meñ koī ābla-pā ab nahīñ miltā
raste meñ magar qāfila-sālār bahut haiñ
ik ḳhvāb kā ehsāñ bhī uThā.e nahīñ uThtā
kyā kahiye ki āsūda-e-āzār bahut haiñ
kyuuñ ahl-e-vafā zahmat-e-bedād-nigāhī
jiine ke liye aur bhī āzār bahut haiñ
har jazba-e-betāb ke ahkām hazāroñ
har lamha-e-be-ḳhvāb ke isrār bahut haiñ
palkoñ talak aa pahuñche na kirnoñ kī tamāzat
ab tak to 'adā' ā.ina-bardār bahut haiñ
kahte hain ki ab hum se KHata-kar bahut hain
ek rasm-e-wafa thi so wafadar bahut hain
lahje ki khanak ho ki nigahon ki sadaqat

ek KHwab ka ehsan bhi uThae nahin uThta
kya kahiye ki aasuda-e-azar bahut hain
kyun ahl-e-wafa zahmat-e-bedad-nigahi
jine ke liye aur bhi aazar bahut hain
har jazba-e-betab ke ahkaam hazaron
har lamha-e-be-KHwab ke israr bahut hain
palkon talak aa pahunche na kirnon ki tamazat
ab tak to 'ada' aaina-bardar bahut hain
